If you're a paper crafter, you probably know that today is World Card Making Day! This week at Our Creative Corner, we're celebrating with a challenge that emphasizes the world part of the festivities.
This week, we want you to get inspired by a country (other than your own) for your paper craft.
My inspiration this week? I've used the flag of Japan as an jumping point for my hand-made holiday Christmas card. I just couldn't get the image out of my head.
I really love this little red brad berries/green holly leaves combo from Making Memories. They go together so well and I love how they finish off the top of the "ornament" (its actually a tag die from Papertrey Ink that works beautifully as an ornament).
Join us this week. Find some inspiration in another country and submit your paper craft project. And to get you started, check out what the other designers have put together this week in a trip around the world!
Holly, how clever! I wouldn't have used the flag as my layout. YOu rocked this card! I just love it! The twine adds some rustic charm to this 'country' christmas! Simply gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteYep ... I saw the Japanese flag when I first saw your card and I love what you have done ... what a fabulous and creative way to use that tag die and your holly leaves and rustic twine are the perfect embellishment for a delightful card!!!
ReplyDeleteSO smart realizing the tag die could play as ornament. Love the way you tied off the berries/holly... great card!
ReplyDeleteSuch a clever way to interpret the Japanese flag! I love that a bunch of used flags as inspiration...we all had the same good idea! :) I really adore the simple layout and look of your card, yet it is still elegant and pretty. Hope your week is going well!
ReplyDeleteOh Holly, I totally LOVE what you did with the challenge this week. Your ornament is sensational - everything about it is just perfect - the colors, the texture and especially the holly leaves with the twine bow. A really smashing piece of work!
ReplyDeleteHope you are having a great week.
Hugs,
Linda
